An Indian Summer in Deepest Dorset

Wayside Cottage, Stoke Abbott

Earlier in the year, when we booked a cottage for two weeks in September, we had no idea we’d drop lucky with the hottest week of the year. It’s our first trip to Dorset together and we’ve had a fantastic time visiting beaches, chocolate box villages and bustling markets.

We drove down via the Static where we’d been on Ruby duty overnight. The M5 was manic but once we’d dropped her off with her Dad at the services, we made relatively good time to the small village of Stoke Abbott.

This post will be photo heavy and features many tourist sites that lots of you will recognise, including Durdle Door, Lyme Regis and the Cerne Abbas Giant.

This one’s for you Bob

We finished the holiday at the New Inn in the village with Curry Night – a perfect end to a brilliant couple of weeks.

I'd love to hear your thoughts, so grab a pew and I'll make you a brew - Hobnob or Bourbon?
