Adventures in Ardnamurchan
It’s been busy, busy, busy at home, as we try to get our house ready for sale, so a week away was just what we needed. We were finally going back to Gorteneorn Bothy in Ardnamurchan – a booking we’d moved 3 times because of the pandemic.

We had an easy drive up to the Corran Ferry, which takes cars across Loch Linnhe and on to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. The Loch looked great with the sun shimmering on the water.
The drive to the Bothy along the forest track is stunning and I managed to capture it on video this time.
We spent the week walking every day in glorious sunshine – we’ve done Oak Woods, sea shore, Loch views and have enjoyed every minute.
Ralf’s been in heaven and we’ve never seen him so chilled.

We even managed to catch up with Jo and Issy on the only rainy day (typical) so had a lovely time in the Tioram Cafe in Acharacle.

We’ve not seen as much wildlife as usual but the area around the Bothy has had lots of deer visiting and we’ve heard cuckoos and tawny owls plus caught sight of a Barn Owl one night. Magical.

We’re booked in for two weeks in October when the Red Deer rut will be in full swing – we can’t wait.
It’s hard not to be blown away by the beauty of this place, isn’t , Martin. You do it justice here. And BTW|, what happened to the “like” button?
We love it, Pete. No idea why you haven’t got a like button. I’ve got one.
