Kendal Mintfest 2011, Kendal, UK
2nd September 2011
We’d got tickets for the Piaf show at the Kendal Brewery Arts Centre on Friday evening so took the Camper to the C & C site on Shap Road for the weekend.
Arrived around 3pm and set up on a hard standing with electricity hook up for the first time. The new pegs made setting up much easier – we seem to be getting better at it each time now.
We got a taxi into Kendal and ate at the Jintana Thai Restaurant on Highgate. We can thoroughly recommend it – the staff looked after us and the meal was great.
Afterwards we went over to the Brewery Arts garden for a couple of pints, watching The Chipolatas (www.chipolatas.com) who were really very good. At 10.30 we went into the cabaret room and saw the Piaf story (Eve Loiseau sings Edith Piaf) – briliant and a great way to end the day.
Saturday started wet and stayed that way – we abandonded the awning and took Absinthe to take refuge in the caravan at Sedbergh, where, if anything. it was even wetter!
Back to the site in the evening we locked ourselves away in Absinthe, watched a film on the Ipad (In Bruges, which we hadn’t seen before and really enjoyed).
Sunday, fortunately, was sunny and warm allowing us to pack everything away in relative dryness before driving home.
Not the best weekend but at least we were out and about.
